The views and opinions of local people matter most to us, as we want to build a centre that addresses the area’s needs. We want to create opportunities in Bideford, Torridge and North Devon. Community Feedback So Far
Midway through December 2011, Wings arranged a series of focus groups, in which a diverse cross-section of the Torridge and North Devon community were consulted on the proposals and asked for their views. Young fathers in the Bideford community highlighted the need for a crèche and soft play area; the Cultural Ambassadors from Bideford College strongly voiced their approval of a proposed cricket academy.
Everyone who attended a focus group expressed support for the Bridge Centre, and forty seven attendees offered their immediate backing by signing a supporter postcard. Local people were especially enthusiastic about the plans for a multifunctional Theatre and Church space and the potential provision of an alternative, vocational curriculum - as part of an ‘Enterprise Academy’ - was met with vocal approval.
But our strives for community involvement do not stop here: we want to know what you think of our proposals!
